- Hello. Thanks to all who helped me with my MFM HD problem. OK,
- here's problem #2. The problem is that when I do a cold or warm reboot,
- my video BIOS shows up on the screen, then the Phoenix v1.1010 BIOS
- banner, then the system beeps, then the computer seems to do another video
- reset which brings up the video BIOS banner again. After this, the system
- acts normally. When I check the system using InfoPlus, CompTest (CTEST257.ZIP),
- or Landmark Diagnostics I get a report that shows the video BIOS loaded
- twice (once at the normal C000 location and again at E000 both take up
- 32Kb). Any ideas why this is happening? It never happened on my old XT
- (the video card is 8/16-bit auto selectable).
-
- Thanks!

- PS-here is a list of my setup:
-
- Micronics 386DX/20 (vintage 1988)
- Cardinal VGA 400 512K memory (8/16 auto select) Cardinal BIOS v2.1.0
- C&T VGA chipset
- WD 1006V-MM1 MFM controller w/ST251-1 42 MB hard drive
- Twincom 14.4 DFi internal modem
- Generic super I/O card IDE/FD/2S/1P (IDE & 2nd COM disabled)
- Proprietary Micronics 32-bit memory board w/ 6 MB onboard
-
- Other notes:
- I tested the system with all of the other cards removed (just the mem board
- and either just the FD controller or just the HD controller w/ the CMOS
- adjusted to fit the proper parameters)
-
- Please post or E-mail, your advice is very much appreciated!
