  41. My wife has been playing Laura Bow in Dagger of Amon Ra.
  42. She has put many long hours into this game. Last night she was able to
  43. get into the furnace room (to escape the person chasing her) and found
  44. Steve Dorian's unconcious body. But...because she forgot to pick up the
  45. smelling salts from the Countess, she could not revive him. The clue
  46. book states, and we found it to be true, that Laura is not strong enough
  47. to move the cover to the secret tunnel by herself and needs Steve's
  48. help. She also wasn't able to pick up the boot, so that's another
  49. problem.

  51. Anyway, since this game progresses by acts, let alone the fact that
  52. there's no way past the murderer, there is no way to go back an get the
  53. salts. This results in either spending many more hours starting over
  54. with a games that is almost finished or quitting altogether and forget
  55. about the money that was spent.

  57. These games are supposed to be fun. Not something that makes her (me) angry.
  58. Why did Sierra (Games) allow her to get this far without an item  that
  59. was so important? Has anyone run into this before?

  61. This is the first game by Sierra that I have bought and even though they
  62. seem to produce a good product, I don't think that I trust them to not
  63. stick it to me in another game.  This is recreation, not a college
  64. entrance exam. Why such a fatal error that leaves no option except
  65. starting over? I see now that she should have saved after each act but
  66. who would have guessed that?
