- If anyone ever gets around to creating an FAQ list for this group, this
- question ought to be in it.
-
- The original Adventure was written by Willie Crowther, at BBN, with
- enhancements by Don Woods at Stanford AI Lab, in FORTRAN, for the then
- popular DEC 10. Some time later, Kent Blackett, at DEC, ported it to
- the PDP-11/70, and this version was widely distrubuted by DECUS. I took
- Blackett's code and slightly hacked it so it would compile and run in
- the MS-DOS environment. Source code, executable, data files, and docs
- are contained in the file adv350.zip, which can be obtained by anonymous
- ftp from the following sites:

- Microsoft produced, and IBM distributed, a commercial version, with one
- added room. This version was copy protected; you had to boot from the
- game disk to play, and reboot to escape.
-
- Someone else, I think it might have been Electronic Arts, produced yet
- another commerical version with a couple of added locations and puzzles.
-
- A much enhanced version, with more locations and puzzles, eventually
- appeared. I have no idea who did this one, but it is in the file
- adv551.zip, which can be found at the following archive sites:
