- Hi all,
-
- Who decides what SMALL subset of patches gets put on suppport.mayfield? It
- does seem to be maintained by someone (in the s800/8.X directory there are
- several patches from October and one from 02-Dec), but the important ones
- are not there (translation - "important"=="the one's I'm looking for" :-) .
-
- The fbackup patch PHCO_0537 is there, and it says "superceded by 1132", but
- 1132 is NOT there.
-
- The inetd patch is there for s700 (PHNE_0437) but NOT for s800 (PHNE_0436).
-
- The vfork patch is NOT there (I didn't check s700).
-
- Without usenet (thanks all !-) we would be in the dark or asking dumb
- questions of support personnel. Why doesn't HP decide that a half-hearted
- test of Internet access doesn't give them much information on whether the
- service is useful?
-
- Jim Thomas (jthomas@wsmr-emh82.army.mil)
-
- p.s., I'll skip the same question about why these patches are not listed in
- the Software Response Bulletin either :-) Or, come to think of it, maybe
- these are related .....
