  13. Who decides what SMALL subset of patches gets put on suppport.mayfield?  It
  14. does seem to be maintained by someone (in the s800/8.X directory there are
  15. several patches from October and one from 02-Dec), but the important ones
  16. are not there (translation - "important"=="the one's I'm looking for" :-) .

  18. The fbackup patch PHCO_0537 is there, and it says "superceded by 1132", but
  19. 1132 is NOT there.

  21. The inetd patch is there for s700 (PHNE_0437) but NOT for s800 (PHNE_0436).

  23. The vfork patch is NOT there (I didn't check s700).

  25. Without usenet (thanks all !-) we would be in the dark or asking dumb
  26. questions of support personnel.  Why doesn't HP decide that a half-hearted
  27. test of Internet access doesn't give them much information on whether the
  28. service is useful?

  33. the Software Response Bulletin either :-)  Or, come to think of it, maybe
  34. these are related .....
