  14. The reason I get tired of reading the messages from Bob and Dave is that
  15. they keep saying the same things over and over and over. I was a reader of
  16. Bob when he was on GEnie, and I was around when he left too. My problem
  17. with a lot of the folks' messages here is that they don't seem to be able
  18. to differentiate between the compter and the people who run the company.
  19. I have two Atari's, a Stacy 4/40 and a 12meg SSTed Mega. They both work
  20. just fine and do everything I want to do. I have about 250 disks of softwar
  21. and its cheaper and does more, easier, in my opinion than the stuff I have 
  22. had to use at work on the IBM and the Mac. I don't have to love the 
  23. management of Atari to enjoy using the computers their company built.
  24. I used to enjoy the technical information I got here on the net, but now
  25. it seems most of the bandwidth is being wasted on company bashing and
  26. nowbody is talking about the the machines. Frankly I don't care if Atari
  27. is full of (censored) people as long as I can keep my machines working.
  28. If they die and atari is gone, I'll buy a machine which works as close
  29. to the way my Ataris did as possible. i.e. a built in GUI, OS in ROM,
  30. good monochrome display, reasonable speed, price, and _simple_ to set up.
  31. Don't anyone try to tell me its a simple thing to set up an configure a
  32. clone from scratch. I've had to help too many people who weren't beginners
  33. do it. If the machine doesn't come with windows installed already it can
  34. be a nightmare for a beginner.
