  26. Your message makes the point that has put me off Atari for a long time now.  
  27. There is NOBODY in the PC world who is saying "if the 586 (or whatever they are
  28. calling it) is released."  Its not a worry.  I've supported Atari since 1983 
  29. when I bought my first Atari 400.  They are great computers but I cannot spend 
  30. the rest of my life wondering if there will be any support for my computer 12 
  31. months from now.  Granted, the Falcon looks like a  great machine, but if it 
  32. doesn't make it that's basically it for Atari.  I don't want to sink $1000+ 
  33. into a computer when the chance of it being supported in a year is 50/50 at 
  34. best.  For that same $1000 I can buy a PC compatible which will be supported 
  35. into the next century AT LEAST.  The features and capabilities of the Falcon 
  36. simply do not justify taking that sort of a gamble.

  38. ITS REALLY NOT THAT IMPRESSIVE!

  40. Nifty toys like the DSP are not going to grab the mass market and that is what 
  41. Atari has got to do to stay in business.  Sorry, but my next computer  
  42. will be an Intel machine.  Maybe then I can sleep at night.
