- Also it is perfectly acceptable to change the gif signature to 87a. The
- GIF spec allows this, just some of the 89a features will get skipped. That is
- of course if it was implemented correctly.
- In fact a pedant might argue that GIF is the signature not GIFxxa. A lot
- of viewers say 'not a gif file' when in fact they mean 'not a fully supported
- gif file' :-)
