  28.     Also it is perfectly acceptable to change the gif signature to 87a. The
  29. GIF spec allows this, just some of the 89a features will get skipped. That is
  30. of course if it was implemented correctly.
  31.     In fact a pedant might argue that GIF is the signature not GIFxxa. A lot
  32. of viewers say 'not a gif file' when in fact they mean 'not a fully supported
  33. gif file' :-)
