  12. Okay, the falcon needs:/  (and can easilly do - so get to work guys 8-)

  14. 16-colour ANSI emulation.  (With all the standard extras, bold, blinking
  15. etc.)

  17. MS-Doze compatible Super-Z-Modem, Bi-Modem & HS-Link Transfer Protocols.
  18. (Not difficult these days, especially with the Falcon's DSP, which should
  19. be able to happily handle data going in & out at the same time....)

  21. Answer Phone.  (Plays a pre-recorded sample when someone calls 'I am
  22. not home... etc.'  - and then records (samples) the callers message, at
  23. a low rate to keep filesize down!)

  25. VGA art package, supporting GOOD picture resizing & dithering, so as
  26. to expand SpeCtrum 512 320*200*512 pictures up to 640*480 etc. resolution,
  27. (this CAN be done with virtually no loss of detail whatsoever, the OLD
  28. mac-plus has software which does it with INCREDIBLE results - and it's
  29. shareware!).   Should support GIF, IFF, maybe TIFF, and the standard
  30. ST-assortment (Degas, Neof╦═írñú
  31. ST-assortment, (Degas, Neochrome, SPectrum 512 etc.)

  33. Comms with DSP data-compression/decompression/error correction. (e.g.
  34. MNP 1-5).  Using the DSP to compress/decompress data, and perform
  35. Error correction, and then send the data to the modem, or to the rest
  36. of the computer.  Disablable in case of real Modem-based MNP being
  37. present!  This would REALLY hit the spot!!

  40. Also - has anyone done any DECENT compatibility tests with the new
  41. Falcon 030,  e.g. testing a reasonably wide variety of Public-Domain/
  42. Shareware and commercial software.  Particularly programs using the
  43. sound-chip, which apparently has problems.

  45. Also, can anyone give us a good description of the software packaged with
  46. the Falcon, not just what it is, but what it does!

  51. And, why isn't there a comp.sys.atari.falcon message base??  Amoeba
  52. games machine has around 10 message bases!  Surely 4 atari bases
  53. wouldn't hurt!  (1 8-bit, 2 st (tech and this base), and falcon). 
  54. Pretty harmless, considering the other assortments of pointless message
  55. bases around, many of which have never had anything posted in them!!
