- Summary: Has anyone gotten the MiNT Distribution Kit to work?
- Keywords: MiNT, GCC, KSH, TCSH, SH, Distribution Kit
-
- I was delighted to see the MiNT distribution kit on the Atari archive.
- I download all the zoo'ed disks. I read all of the installation documentation.
-
- However, when I try to use the SETUP.PRG program, it fails with 2 bombs.
- I have been careful to clean out my AUTO folder and turn off every single
- accesory. I am aware that AUTO programs and accessories cannot be used
- with MiNT. After I have done all of that work, I still cannot get the
- program to work.
-
- Here is the advice I need:
-
- I have TOS 1.00 and 2.5 Mbytes of memory (will be 4.0 Mbytes in a few
- hours). I have an ICD cotroller for a 127Mbyte Quatum embedded SCSI drive
- and a 65Mbyte Control-Data RLL (Adapter Controller) drive. IS MiNT or the
- installation supposed to work with this setup?
-
- What should I do to manually install the kit? How do I get the atari
- to the point where I can use the MINIX file system for my partition F: and
- install the software with a UNIX style user name?
-
- Any and all help will be appreciated. I wrote the TeX installation manual
- two years ago (everyone seemed to like it but CS-TeX's ease of use killed
- the desire to manually install TeX), and I would not mind writing some
- type of professional looking document to go along with manually installing
- this kit. The best thing would be to have a working SETUP.PRG program for
- all versios of TOS and the ICD device driver.
