- I've been reading a couple of times that the 'only' way
- to upgrade an Atari is to slash and burn. Well I think
- this is not correct. Some five six years ago I started using
- my first atari, an 1040 ST. A couple of years later I reached
- its bounderies and bought a Mega 2. I could do this because I
- could get a nice price for my old 1040 ST. And the fun part was
- that all the software worked (99.9% I belief) on the new machine
- and I did have to learn a new computer system (hardware and
- sofware). If it wasn't for the lack of money I would have used
- the same swapping/buying-method to get a Mega STE a year ago.
- Having the same advantages as before.

- So what I'm trying to say is, that with an Atari there is also
- a possibility to upgrade and be compatible. You just do not have
- the same machine. Ofcouse there are those who have such an
- intimate relation with their atari.....
