- After many attemps to install gcc on my system, the first fix file (fix-1.bak)
- always fails at the same point..
-
- Right after the question:
-
- "Due to a name collision an important object file in libgcc.a was missing.
- Should it be added back? [yN] y"
-
- after I enter 'y' I get:
-
- "found string >)6<
- ranlib: gcc:lib/libgcc.a: inappropriate file type or format"
-
- and it keeps going.. after all 3 fix files have been executed I can only
- compile c and not c++ code properly. Could someone tell me what's going on
- here?
-
- By the way, I DID assign all the proper dirs and paths as in the README file.
-
- Thanks for any help,
- Ben Ferreira
