  16. Good question - anything that uses the ASL (standard) file requester does,
  17. in a way, since ASL requesters are appwindows (drag an icon onto one and
  18. it goes to that directory, selects that file).

  20. There are a good number of commercial apps starting to do this, but some,
  21. like ProWrite, are awkward.  For example, ProWrite always opens an AppIcon
  22. on the Workbench, which you can drop files onto to have ProWrite load them
  23. up.  Well, this is all very nice until you set ProWrite to open on the
  24. workbench screen.  It doesn't remove the AppIcon and become an AppWindow,
  25. as it should.  You can't drop files into its window!  This really stinks,
  26. to put it bluntly.  It's a pain to have to find the Workbench *under* the
  27. largish ProWrite window (they should also let you set a magnification for
  28. the view so you can make it use up less of your valuable desktop space),
  29. then drop a file on the AppIcon, when the window's *right there*!
