- I've just started playing Armour-Geddon lately - I've had it for about a
- year but it doesn't run on my 3000 and it didn't occur to me to try it on my
- 1000 until this month... anyway, it's a great game, but I'm having a few
- problems getting the hang of things.
-
- Most of the time, the experience gained during my misspent youth (in arcades
- and in front of my C-64) makes learning most games fairly straightforward.
- And after a day or two of practice, I'm able to handle most of the basic
- tasks in Armour-Geddon well enough (I have yet to manage to retrieve a
- hovercraft, since the enemy choppers keep knocking it away from the
- lift...). But there are things that the manual doesn't explain. Like what
- the symbols on the intelligence map mean. Or what direction is up on the
- main map. And how you're supposed to pick up resources. And why the enemy
- progress indicator doesn't seem to slow down no matter how many power lines
- I take out. Well, lots of other stuff.
-
- Actually the manual leaves a lot to be learned but I've picked up quite a
- few things by luck. I don't have time to play it much but I've been putting
- in a few hours at a shot, two or three times a week. I don't want to get
- burned out on the game before I finish it.
-
- Anyway, don't bother posting replies; I don't read this group at all. But
- if you have any tips, strategies or so forth, please Email me. I'll no
- doubt have more specific questions, and I can share a trick or two that I've
- learned in return.
