- A goodly number of OCS/ECS Amiga wares will run. Some people have posted
- rather lengthy lists of games that supposedly won't work. Any games that
- don't work probably don't because:
-
- - they hang when running on any processor greater than a stock 7mhz 68000
- - they don't like AmigaOS ROMs greater than 1.2 or 1.3
- - they require fast-mem, or expect fast-mem in the memory address than A501
- RAM goes
- - they don't like CPU caches
- - for some weird reason don't like more than 512k ChipRAM
- - act of Mohammed/god/Buddha. :)
-
- If you boot up in one of the older ChipSet modes, run with the caches
- disabled, use SKICK to boot under 1.3 (if you're allowed to), use
- Degrader's CPU-waste util, and add some FastRAM to the base A1200 system
- (which you'll want to do anyway), you should be able to run the vast
- majority of games.

- Rumours are starting to circulate, but no hard evidence of one yet.
-
- JSB> Will A500 SCSI disk drives and controllers work on a A1200??
-
- If they plugged into the expansion port on the A500, then no there's no
- chance. The A1200 can have a hard drive added in its CPU slot trapdoor,
- through PCMCIA, or most easily by bunging a Hard Drive on the IDE
- controller that's integrated into the unit! :)
