- If you have a twisted cable, make sure your drive is connected
- to the end connector, and the drive select is set to "0".

- I think I had a similar problem but with a sepparate HD controller,
- so it might not apply to you. I had a controller with no HD
- connected and was attempting to boot with the 5 1/4 drive. For
- some reason, the boot sequence was looking for a harddrive and
- there was none connected, so it gave the "boot failure...."
- message. Logically, you would expect that it would detect no drive
- and go on, evidently this is not the case.
-
- I solved my problem by connecting a hd to the controller. The hard-
- drive had not been prepped or formated etc. The computer then booted
- off the 5 1/4. So, I guess what I'm suggesting is, it might not be
- your 5 1/4 that's causing the problem. I would try looking into
- the fake hd area. If everything looks right there ( did you check
- if the hd configuration is proper? ) I would delete all the BB
- software and re-install without the fake partition. Then see if the
- BB will boot off the 5 1/4 drive. If it does, you've eliminated one
- variable anyway.

-
- Did you manually check the user-startup sequence file to see that it
- had the proper commands inserted?
