- It works. I have the CMI MultiPort board (with printer on the multiport
- parallel port). My standard parallel port used to be (about a year and
- a half ago, give or take a couple of months) connected to my roommate's
- A500, which has since been replaced by a Sun 3/110 (prototype).
-
- I got my Multiport board for ~$140-$150 over the net. This board does
- have one little quirk though, but it can be worked around with an A/B
- switchbox. You can hang your machine (requiring a reboot) by doing any
- of the following:
-
- 1. Boot machine with printer off, try to use multiport serial ports
-
- 2. Same as above with printer on, use ports (ok so far), then turn
- printer off.
-
- Workaround:
-
- Install A/B box between computer and printer. Switch A/B box to connect
- printer *only* after printer is powered on and ready, and *always* switch
- A/B box back to disconnected before switching printer off.
