  32. Doesn't depend.  If the add-on parallel port is output-only (like my
  33. CMI/DigiFex MultiPORT board) you can connect your printer to it, freeing
  34. the motherboard bidirectional port for other things (in my case, an Epson
  35. ES300C scanner).  The DigiFex includes instructions and software to
  36. handle both DOS level (PRT:, PAR:) and device level (printer.device,
  37. parallel.device) printer access.  I'd be surprised if that isn't true
  38. of all add-on parallel ports, but do what I did: check before you buy.
