- Doesn't depend. If the add-on parallel port is output-only (like my
- CMI/DigiFex MultiPORT board) you can connect your printer to it, freeing
- the motherboard bidirectional port for other things (in my case, an Epson
- ES300C scanner). The DigiFex includes instructions and software to
- handle both DOS level (PRT:, PAR:) and device level (printer.device,
- parallel.device) printer access. I'd be surprised if that isn't true
- of all add-on parallel ports, but do what I did: check before you buy.
