- Taken from the Doc:
-
- The BaudBandit is a replacement for the original serial.device
- allowing you to drive your serial port at baud rates up to 115200
- Baud with a standard 68000 Processor in full multitasking. Without
- any doubt the BaudBandit can be called "a little revolution" within
- the telecommunication scene on the Commodore Amiga.
-
- It is especially designed for use with high speed modems and supports
- full bidirectional RTS/CTS handshake and receive buffering. This
- device will no longer bring your computer to a standstill when
- transferring a file at 14400 baud or more. Compared to the
- serial.device, this program provides a speed increase of about 500%
- percent.
-
-
- And in mine case it does work very well (i'm still using an A500/7.1 MHz).
-
- > What do I lose if I use it instead of serial.device?
-
- xOn/xOff support, and also Breaks aren't supported (but maybe this
- will change in the future). It runs only 8N1 RTS/CTS transfer, so
- 7E1, etc. isn't supported either.

-
- JR-Comm does work (perfectly) with BaudBandit.device, just rename
- serial.device into BaudBandit.device (beware it's CASE-SENSITIVE!!)
-
- But every communication-package which allow you to change the
- serial-driver will run with BaudBandit.device.
-
- And when there's a program which won't support user-definable
- device-driver, you can use the QuickFix program which 'patches' some
- verctors.
-
- > Is BaudBandit.device free? I think BaudBandit Comm is NOT!
-
- BaudBandit.device is ShareWare (and has nothing to do with the
- BandBandit Communication-package). Register-fee is Dm20,- (about
- $10,-).
