- The 1200 is not the machine for people who want a lot of ram or expansion
- capability. You're not going to find much in the way of computers for less
- than $599. And I would think that the cost of ram expansion will come
- down when a few more companies produce them and there is more competition.
- The 1200 was released when, last week?
-
- And C= is releasing some new Quad Sync monitors in February.

- Yeah... I've been shopping for a PC for the past few days. Let me tell ya,
- there is a lot of junk out there. Many of the monitors that come with
- these systems are unbelievably fussy and many even have visible ghosting.
- Further, your still talking about a 486DX on an ISA 16-bit bus, 16-bit ram,
- a slow VGA card, and no sound. And you're also talking about 4 MB of
- ram which is a minimum with Widows. You're also talking about some no
- name brand. To get a good brand with a good monitor in a 486DX, you're
- looking at about $1800 to $2300 or so on an ISA bus with slow VGA card.
- It is still a good deal, I know, but it is not an Amiga.
-
- I'll bet a mid-level 030 Amiga will stack up against the ISA 486 pretty
- well.
