- the display is planar, whereas a 256-color VGA display is chunky.
- The latter means the A500 has to do more with its data, or would

- Sorry, are we talking about cost now? The A500 provides all the
- GUI performance you need, if you're willing to give all this other
- esoteric stuff a miss.

- No doubt about that. I don't think Amiga users would beef up their
- displays just to get a faster Workbench. In fact, I sometimes use
- MultiRipper to drop _down_ to a 1-plane Workbench screen, just for
- a change.
