- This is FALSE. On my '386 at work, it takes approximately a second
- to switch from one "screen" to another, particularly when
- switching from a screen in graphics mode to a screen in text mode.
-
- An Amiga screen switch is to all intents and purposes
- instantaneous compared to an OS/2 screen switch (never mind that
- you can also scroll Amiga screens around). Window updates on my
- Amiga also "feel" faster than those on the PS/2 at work. Maybe
- PM doesn't use SMART_REFRESH, but it looks really wierd the way it
- will remove the parts of a window over the background, then remove
- the parts of the window that overlapped other windows.
-
- On a slightly different tack, another "responsiveness" tool I
- haven't been able to find locally for OS/2 is a mouse accelerator
- that will do logarithmic acceleration.
