- After many years growing up with the home computer market, I think I
- have somewhat of an idea what helps a computer sell. Personally I think
- CBM designs great micro-computers and would be sad to hear them die.
- I really hope they stay around, and grow infact. I like to see the Amiga
- alot more popular over here in N.A.
-
- But here is afew suggestions, which may help the Amiga. Please don't
- flame me, and if I make any mistakes please be kind about it..heh
-
- - CBM1200 make into AGA game home computer system or low-end multimedia
- system. Make a CDROM thingy for it... A1270? heh.. CBM try to get some
- more companies to support it, and encourage others. I suggest they
- provide tons of info on how to develope for it. Especially in making
- decent games. Face it, if they want take on the N.A. home computer
- entertainment market. We have to be dominate. I know some of you hate
- the idea, and the Amiga has a game machine image. Why not use that
- to our advantage. Kill i486 local bus game systems in the next few
- years. Establish CDROM libary on the A1200 and AGA CDTV? CBM must
- concentrate on this market, in order to survive. Face it many
- people have A500 game systems..heh Why not prepare and be competitive
- against other companies. Geez to me the A1200 is great to develope
- games on. And could careless if some lame ass N.A. so called Amiga
- developement group drops it. Wooo lets port in "C" and not take
- advantage
- of the custom chipset! pathetic... European Amiga game developers is
- what to look at! The Amiga is popular really popular in europe, thats
- for sure. So we have to go against SNES, SEGA CD, CD-I, i386-486
- local bus...etc in the next few years. I think an A1200/CD system and
- CDTV AGA has a chance. Just needs support!! CDROM is the way! Floppies
- are a dead market.. Will be for sure in afew years..heh
-
- - For now the A600...or Amiga ECS/1meg chip should have more support for
- low-budget users. Good introductory way to get into the Amiga.
- I think any decent game on this platform should be done 100% Assembly
- and 1meg CHIP for sure!
-
- - Lets look at Nintendos fame... characters like Mario, really helped
- that company, not only that mega-advertising.. Geez haven't seen
- many Amiga advertisements.. Its like CBM gave up on it..heh
-
- - I think Amiga 4000 & up..future RISC based systems.. Should be totally
- for the professional power-user type.. Lots of software support here
- in many areas.. Lets say a CBM take some more leadership we need
- some graphic standards. There is dozen of third-party graphic boards
- now.. I think C= is doing something about this, I would think so..
- ReTargetable Graphic's.. I'm not too keen with this platform, since I
- do not have the money..heh.. more a low-end user, but I think this
- area needs agressive advertising.. I saw PC-weekly mag have an
- Amiga 400 ad, somewhere in the whatnew area. But hard to find..
-
- Thats about all I can think of for now, and hope some take my text
- seriously. Anyhow I have some faith in C= and glad they released the
- A1200. C'ya all later!!

-
- ps; We killed the Atari ST... and Falcon will have its wings clipped for
- sure. But CBM really needs to take a big BYTE from Apple in order to
- survive, and expand.
