-
- ... because IBM didn't publish the actual implementation (as in the case
- of the PC hardware design) this time. All IBM tell people is what the
- specs for the bus are (so that there can be cards for it), but do not
- give out the full specs so that the clones can make their own micro-
- channel chip set. There were a few companies that came up with their
- chip set. The other reason is that the MC is not backward compatible
- (so it doesn't have to live with some of the flaws of the ISA), the
- clones aren't happy with that as they thrive on the low cost expansion
- card.

-
- Agree!! I was (and still am) impressed. I like the true async nature of
- the design and the backward compatible feature (on a per cycle basis
- without dragging down a clean design.)

- Hey.... C= might go out and include that in the 3.X or 4.X software. :)
- It is not they haven't down that before. (eg. CrossDOS, AREXX - great
- pieces of software).

- ^^^ Sorry the term LCD is overloaded. LCD can also mean Liquid
- Crystal Display. This is pretty confusing when you are talking about
- computer stuff.

-
- So are existing MS-DOS virii on Amiga DOS. :) :) :)

-
- That is a limited class of viruses. What about ones that destroy the
- HD ? :) :)
