-
- Because software programers dont follow the Style Guide. There IS a
- standard for Amiga GUI's, but for a long time, there was not. So lots of
- things have not been updated to the standard (and many people still insist
- that their way is better than Commodore's standard, or just dont care).
- Consistant GUI's are not entirely the Amiga's or Commodore's fault, as
- there IS a standard that anyone can follow by simply buying a book.

- I dont care how fast the windows are on a Mac or OS/2 or whatever; moving
- around a bunch of windows is never going to be as fast as I can flip
- through screens.

-
- I don't think DIG would have, or will, make multiple screens not
- usefull/needed. Some things require more resolution/colour - some things
- do NOT - they can each have their own way. An editor can open a very fast,
- very memory efficient 4 colour screen; and your paint program can open a
- slower but very colourfull screen. Makes sense to me. I certainly
- wouldn't want my text editor being bogged down by having to run on a 256
- colour screen just because I also want to use a paint program, and then
- have the windows overlapping causing me to have to move them around - which
- is going to be slower on any system compared to screen switching.
-
- To each his own, I guess.
