Well, if you run Amiga DPaint against IBM DPaint, you should get the same
"*wham* and it's up there" speed comparison.  In fact DPaint loads faster
on my PC then my Amiga.  But then again, it may load slower on someone
else's PC.  What it all comes down to with all the problems you mentioned,
(Slow Windows, etc) is that "your mileage may vary" depending on the
graphics card, hard drive, etc, etc, etc that your PC (or Amiga) has.
