  11. Okay, here are some first impression, and some question.  You Amigans
  12. *barely* advocated the Amiga enough for me to see about getting one,
  13. and I have: an Amiga1000, with half Meg, a 1080 monitor with a broken
  14. speaker, and an extra floppy drive.  I almost gave up on
  15. this group, what with Amigoid Whackos telling me, a DUMB PC USER,
  16. to 'go away' and all.

  18. Yea, verily, this about the rock-bottom as far as Amigas go, and surely
  19. isn't representational, say, of Dan Barrett's mega-Amiga (wanna let me
  20. borrow it? 8) ), and some of you will tell me to compare it to a
  21. 1985 PC, etc etc.  Go ahead and waste your time; I'll ignore those 
  22. replies.. it is trivial to type 'd' at the end of you email...

  24. Anyway, here are my First Impressions:

  26. 1) FLICKER-O-RAMA
  27. 2) They should have orange and blue as the default colors.
  28. 3) The windowing is rather adnaced for way back then.  A Shell resizes
  29. fine and all.
  30. 4) The scrollbars *are* proportional after all!  Yay!
  31. 5) The pointer looks goofy.
  32. 6) Real Low Res-Like.

  34. Question, please:

  36. How in hell do I kill a Shell?!  (for example)  Some things have that
  37. square-with-a-dot in the top left, you click on it and it goes away.
  38. But sometimes there isn't one...and it just stays there.

  40. Why can't I drag a window DOWN so that part of it 'hangs' off the side or
  41. bottom?

  43. I am Deluxe Paint II here.  I can 'drag' the screen down in it... is that
  44. supposed to do something?  How do I toggle from the paint program
  45. and the WorkBench (which is 1.3.2, by the way)

  47. Real quick like - how do I change the resolution of the workbench, and
  48. the colors?

  50. Also does someone know how I might hook this baby up to my 386 (which has
  51. an internal modem) and use a term program FROM the AMiga?  You know, 
  52. route it through my PC, going straight to the modem?  That way I
  53. can download stuff.

  55. Where can I get the Work Bench Lander thing?  Peter da Silva, you know what
  56. I mean?
