  21. I have friends with 486's that are SO proud of the great games
  22. they have, and they miss no opportunity to tell how fast they are.
  23. (Game machines... Toys...)
  24. I also know people who use their PC's to program C or Pascal or whatever.
  25. (Developers tools... Serious machines...)
  26. Still, with their MegaBlazing AssKicking HyperFast PowerMachines,
  27. do they have much RAM free for DOS-progs ??  Hardly 630kB !!
  28. And that's after using loadhi or something like it to put those
  29. awful TSR-programs up in the ex.mem, if possible.
  30. And being careful not to use any drivers that uses the same interrupt-
  31. addresses...

  33. Take an A600HD (with 2MB ram, if you want to...)
  34. Load the WorkBench, and look at the memory free that is displayed.
  35. (Or, if you want it REAL serious, don't load the workbench, then you 
  36. don't have to look at the toy-icons and toy-windows  :-)
  37. I guess the mem available should be around 1.8MB continuous RAM.
  38. That's almost 3 times the mem avail. under MS-DOS (without cheating)...
