  33. Code Page 850 is a good starter - even for the US. I use it right now,
  34. but when my message gets transfered out of my system I translate it into
  35. ISO 8859-1, so that's how the umlauts are encoded in my .signature.

  41. Sad.  :-)  Windows allows more than one font and character set and
  42. depending on what language version of Windows you use you may have
  43. ISO 8859-1 as the default character set.

  45. Windows NT will have UniCode (ISO 10646/16-bit).
