- Not sure what you are doing wrong, I just did some very unscientific tests
- with FTP's WFTP windows FTP client program between my pc (386DX-25 and our local
- SPARCSTATION 2 as a server. I get figures of
- 123,780 bytes/sec sun disk to pc disk.
- 194,511 bytes/second Sun cache to pc null.
- 170,197 bytes/second PC disk to Sun disk
- 226,970 bytes/second smartdrv cache to /dev/null on SUN.
-
- Note that these figures are singleshot tests from Windows with only
- Program Manager open apart from the client. The network is active
- (~ 9.30 local most people have started their PC's and had their coffee)
- and I have not tried to do this under controlled conditions. My PC has
- a WD 8013 card and I am using a Crynwr packet driver, PC/TCP 2.11 WIn3.1
- Qemm , DOS 5 and 8 meg of Ram. I don't have details of the Sun but it does
- have a prestoserve board and it is in a SparcStation Box.

- I just go back to DOS and do the transfers there or just let them happen in
- the background while doing other things in Windows. With PC/TCP I have the
- choice, no reboots no changing Configs etc.
