- What kind of CPU are you using? When I first installed a 14.4 modem on my
- old 20MHz 386, it bogged down the system something awful. But my new
- system, a 486/66, doesn't even notice. I think a slower CPU just gets
- overwhelmed.

- I've also heard that you can speed things up considerably by installing a
- 16550 UART if your system supports it, but I don't have any direct
- experience with that.
