- This is off topic, but to name one that is damn close to a monopoly,
- try the DuBeers Diamond Cartel. Another that came very close was INCO
- due to the large quantity of nickel in Sudbury, ON. There have also
- been national monopolies, such as silk in China in the early middle
- ages, which were NOT created by government, but permitted to
- continue, or actively supported, by the government AFTER their
- creation. Lets DROP this side-issue.
