  11. A co-worker of mine in Auckland has sent me his NT-bearing hard disk to play
  12. with over Xmas.

  14. I am writing this from the NT Terminal program. I have beening using the
  15. system for about 20 minutes and it has crashed and burned twice in that time. 
  16. The first time I was closing the Control Panel (having modified nothing) and
  17. had changed nothing.

  19. The swap file is 27 megabytes and can eat up to a maximum of 77 megs. I am
  20. running it on a 486DX/25. After NT and the swap file, I have 35 megs free on
  21. the 125 meg drive. I have 8 megs of 70ns RAM and the system runs very much
  22. like OS/2 on 4 megs with no HPFS.

  24. The second crash occurred when I tried to open the Disk Manager: the system
  25. locked solid and I had to hit the reset button.

  27. That was in the first 10 minutes.

  29. So far......I miss the WPS. If you like Win3.1...then obviously you will feel
  30. right at home on NT......but I never did like the Win3.1 interface.

  32. I don't hink I am in any danger whatever of becoming an NT bigot based on what
  33. I have seen so far. Having gone from the OS/2 2.1 beta to the NT
  34. beta.....there is no real comparison.

  36. Being an OS/2 bigot, NT would have to the *best* thing since sliced bread to
  37. lure me away......and right now it looks like a bag of flour. the bread is a
  38. long way off by the look of things.
