- Well, I guess that's why they have .advocacy groups, so the college
- kids and the religious fanatics can have a place to play and vent
- their spleen.
-
- But getting back to the issue here. There is one book that I
- heartily recommend be read to find out if OS/2 2.0 is for you, and
- what it can do for you. That book is INSIDE OS/2 2.0 by Mark
- Miansi, John W. Little, Marlene Semple and Bill Camarda. This book
- is written in layman's terms and defines many of the technical
- terms that would be new to someone just getting started. It also
- takes you on a guided tour of the OS/2 Workplace Shell and many of
- the features of OS/2, such as Virtual DOS Machines and how to set
- them up, use them, and taylor each one separately to a particular
- task. That right there, in my opinion, is worth the price of
- admission. It discusses WINOS/2 sessions and how to deal with them
- as well. All in all, it's the document that IBM didn't include with
- OS/2 2.0, but should have.
-
- In order to get a firm grip on whether or not OS/2 will work for
- you, you have to spend some time either playing with it and asking
- questions, or getting a book like this, reading it, and playing
- with OS/2. I think it is an excellent DOS multi-tasker, and when
- the 2.1 release hit's the streets, it will be even better.
-
- Not everyone needs multi-tasking, but I do and welcome the change.

- JMHO...
