- I currently have a 486 running UNIX at home that serves as my link to the
- internet. I get mail and USENET news from other sites (via UUCP), and will
- forward it along to other sites that I serve as a feed site for.
-
- To do this, I use C-news and UUCP (HDB UUCP, which came with UNIX). I also
- use NNTP since my newsreader (that I use to read stuff myself) acts as an NNTP
- client; thus, I run an NNTP server that XRN (my newsreader) can talk to.
-
- I'd like (if possible) to start using Windows NT for this sort of activity.
- Does anyone know if C-news is being ported to Windows NT? I know of some
- UUCP packages under DOS, but most of these don't seem very robust (at least
- in comparison to UUCP under UNIX). Does anyone know of the status of UUCP
- access on Windows NT?
-
- I've heard (in this group) of an NNTP-based Windows NT newsreader that someone
- is working on (it's shareware). That would, of course, serve as a newsreader if
- the NNTP server code runs under Windows NT. Any ideas if it does? What about
- MAIL via UUCP?
-
- I'm not sure where to ask these questions, but this group (since it is an
- internet group) seems like a great place! :-)
-
- If anyone has any information on any of the above, I'd really appreciate it;
- thanks ...
