- The only problems I have seen with Dashboard (on a Northgate 486) were:
-
- Installation programs that try to create program groups or add icons do not
- work and may lock up (MSC7 and Windows SDK, for example). I presume this
- is because Dashboard does not handle the DDE messages that Program Manager
- does. This is a serious oversight on HP's part, but can be worked around
- by switching back to ProgMan before running a Windows-based installation.
-
- Dashboard gets confused if you have sub-groups with the same name under
- different groups (it brings up the same group for both, even though it has
- created group files with unique names.)
-
- I have not seen any of the problems that you mentioned, and I have been
- using Dashboard exclusively for about two months now.

-
- I think it is more likely a conflict with other software than with
- hardware, but I don't have any specific suggestions.
