- Yes, I'm now a liar (well sort of) when I said
- SigmaPlot could control "everything" (I've not needed
- scientific notation before)
- I could not figure out how to do it elegantly via the menus
- BUT there is a way to do it that is a bit inelegant (via the menus).
-
- In Tick label options, select "Text from columns x (say column 7).
-
- In column 7, type out the labels as you would want them to
- appear on the graph. Now the problem here (that took me
- an hour - it is 30 deg Celcius outside and 35deg Celcius in
- my room - so the pressure was on) is that Sigma plot thinks
- that 2.3e+02 (the numbers I was using) is numerical, not text,
- so it converted it to its standard format which gives you so much
- agro.
-
- I forgot/don't know how to type numbers as text into the worksheet
- but the solution to this I found was to use 123 to make a wk1 file
- with the labels entered as text. Import it into Sigma plot and
- it will now recognise the labels as text - and you should
- now see the labels on the graph as you want them.
- (You should be able to use any data format to inport
- the labels into sigma plot. )
-
- There are probably better ways to do this but this
- is one way to do it at short notice.
-
-
- There is an email address and BBS for Jandel to get
- help/discuss problems. I recieved it in a blurb from
- them around 6 months ago. However, as I was really kicking heads
- in with this program (being a He-Man individaul) I threw it
- in the bin as I thought I would never need it. Bit stupid
- I admit, as I now have a small query on batch printing.
- I'm printing over 200 graphs via batch with a cannon 10ex via
- EpsonLQ mode. Half the graphs, before they are printed,
- keep prompting whether I want to Use, Cancel, Not Use the
- defaults in the graph. The type of printer is irrelevant, and
- the message prompt is irrelevant to what is printed
- out, but means I have to stay by the printer. I think it may
- have something to do with the original graphs were in
- SigmaPlot 4.1 format?
-
- If you need anymore help, send me email.
-
- Hopefully, my reputation (or lack of it) is
- still intact. Happy New Year to all, Lachlan.
