- I recently got a package called Back-It by Gazelle. There is a DOS and
- Windows version. I got the Windows version.
-
- Back-It seems to support every kind of tape system ever made. I
- have now used it with an Archive QIC02 (controller and tape) and a
- Archive QIC150 SCSI. It "mostly" works for both types of tape. The
- reason I say "mostly" is because it tends to do odd things and causes me
- a lot of grief. The DOS version has been around longer so I would assume
- that it is more mature. The Windows version is pretty new and really
- shows it! They needed to do a lot more QA on their product before they
- released it (IMHO). If you are really desperate, you might give it a try.
- I paid about $60 for mine. At that price, it was almost worth it.
