- This isn't strictly a Windows question, but I just installed 16MB
- of more RAM into my computer (for a total of 20MB) and was wondering
- if anyone could tell me what my machine should report for the amount
- of extended memory available.
-
- With the 4MB setup, it said "640K Base 3092K Extended". This makes
- sense (taking away 384K for the upper memory area, this adds up to
- 4MB). Now, it says "640K Base 15104K Extended". This seems too low.
- I checked that I set the DIP switches right, and I did (for 20MB with
- 4MB in Bank 0 and 16MB in Bank 1).
-
- Is this what the computer should say? Or should it be something like
- "640K Base 19000K Extended"?
-
- Please answer by e-mail.
-
- Thanx in advance,
- Nate
-
- BTW, Thanx to everyone who helped with the Excel problems...it turned
- out to be a corrupt .EXE file.
