-
- That's a workaround I don't like since VGA is 640x480 ... which makes
- windows (and Word) pretty much useless. If you want to go that route,
- at least use the 800x600 mode. Anyway, note that this problem is only
- in the 256 color modes. None of the other drivers seem to exhibit
- the bug.
-
- I use windows in 1024x768x256 mode. Since I rarely change the
- Tools/Options in Word, this bug doesn't cause me too much trouble.
- My workaround is to switch to 1024x768x16 mode in windows, change
- the options, and assuming I want them for some time (or at least
- it will be some time before I change them back) I then change back
- to 1024x768x256 mode. This does take a small amount of time, but
- since I don't do it often, it's not that big a deal. Of course, it's
- still a big enough deal that I _want_ Diamond to fix the bug(s)!! :-)
-
- I have run into some minor annoying problmes with the Diamond 16 color
- drivers in Word though. When I select the beginning or end of a paragraph
- (and sometimes in the paragraph) with the mouse, a black box of varying
- width replaces the next character and stay on the screen unless I scroll
- of off and then back on. In addition, the colors do note seem to look as
- "crisp" as they do in the 256 color mode.
