- Recently I purchased the Star Trek After Dark screen saver. After installing
- it over the weekend on a Gateway 486 dx2 with ATI graphics ultra video. Some
- mysterious things began happening, including
- 1) corrupted dialing directory in Procomm plus/windows
- 2) MS-windows Notepad would no longer print complaining about lack of memory
-
- I went over to the CompuServe Berkeley forum, and many people were flaming
- on the screen saver. Apparently the ST saver has known memory leaks, it
- eats memory particularly with the randomizer, multimodule, planetside,
- and final mission modules. This 1.0 release seems to have confirmed
- all my worst fears about buying 1.0 releases. Needless to say, I uninstalled
- it from the machine using their supplied uninstall program(looks like they
- expected people to need it).
-
- Has anyone else had some memory unavailable problems, mysterious crashes,
- while using After Dark?
