- Does anybody know how to center an equation on a page (or in a column)
- automatically, ala TeX's display math mode? The problem is actually
- worse since I need to put an equation number over on the right margin,
- much like you see in a lot of textbooks. In TeX, this is all pretty
- straight-forward, but I'm finding it very frustrating under Ami Pro 3.0.
- Naturally, you could do all this with frames, but when you start having
- tons of equations, and then you play with the margins, columns, etc
- you see the hassles of changing every frame by hand. Yuck!
-
- Any ideas? I appreciate any help you could give me.
-
- You may consider your equation as any block of text. In normal mode (not in
- equation mode) setup a rule with a center tab in the middle of the
- line and a right tab at the end of the line. Next, before your
- equation put a tab. After your equation put another tab. The first one
- will center your equation (because it's a center tab). The seond tab
- will help to right align the equation number. To help to do this. To
- be consistent in all your document you may need to setup a style with
- the above ruler.
-
- Good luck,
