- No, the hardware vendors do this because 90% of the potential
- buyers (including me) won't buy the machine if I have to go out
- and buy DOS and Windows separately: it would be more expensive
- and much more of a hastle that way, and I won't put up with
- it.

- Besides, you don't know that you are paying more for it. The amount
- of money the hardware company saves by installing the exact same
- system on each machine may make up for the small cost of the
- software itself.
