- An acquaintance of mine who's developing for GEOS 2.0 is presently working
- on a terminal program that "will leave GeoComm in the dust." I haven't
- pressed him for details, but so far I know that it will include one popular
- PC transfer protocol internally (other than x/y-modem), but that the makers
- of a popular cross-platform protocol have been "very obstinate" about
- licensing their protocol for internal use without insanely high fees.
-
- I've mentioned the idea of user-definable terminal types to him, and he
- thinks it's a good idea - so maybe we'll eventually have something we can
- play with and not get a GeoCrash. ;)
-
- He's also been mumbling lately about bi-directional transfer protocols, and
- support for soundcards, but those two are _firmly_ in the realm of rumors
- for now.
