  12. An acquaintance of mine who's developing for GEOS 2.0 is presently working
  13. on a terminal program that "will leave GeoComm in the dust."  I haven't
  14. pressed him for details, but so far I know that it will include one popular
  15. PC transfer protocol internally (other than x/y-modem), but that the makers
  16. of a popular cross-platform protocol have been "very obstinate" about
  17. licensing their protocol for internal use without insanely high fees.

  19. I've mentioned the idea of user-definable terminal types to him, and he
  20. thinks it's a good idea - so maybe we'll eventually have something we can
  21. play with and not get a GeoCrash. ;)

  23. He's also been mumbling lately about bi-directional transfer protocols, and
  24. support for soundcards, but those two are _firmly_ in the realm of rumors
  25. for now.
