- I was really excited when I got my 9600 bps modem with MNP group 5 and
- v.42bis and all of that...

- I guess it's time to go buy two NS16550AN UART's and swap the chips on my
- NEW serial card (com1 and com2)....I've optimized, read, fiddled, tried.

- But mostly crashed.

- When I was running 2400 bps, switching out a window didn't affect downloads
- in the least - the files kept plugging away in the background. Those
- halcyon days are now a dim memory.

- Oh, did I mention that I bought an external cuz I like to watch the lights?

- Had I bought a card I doubt I'd have had all these problems.
