- According to what I've read from Quarterdeck, 640x480x16 is the maximum
- resolution that DV is capable of displaying with the DV menu and/or other
- windows, and 800x600x16 is the maximum resolution that DV can save and restore,
- albeit with the "curtain" that you're seeing (see VGA.TEC from Quarterdeck).
- I'm personally running Windows 3.1 with the "standard" Super VGA 800x600x16
- driver. DV is able to completely save and restore the Windows screen at such
- a resolution, but it *does* display the graphics curtain when the DV menu is
- selected. 4 graphics pages are needed to save and restore 800x600x16. I
- recall trying 640x480x256 under DV, and my results were similar to yours.
- Basically, DV can offer only so much memory to save and restore graphics
- screens, and 800x600x16 is that limit. One hint, though, comes to mind:
- switch to a character-mode non-Windows app before switching away from Windows.
- If you do this, DV will only have to save a text screen, so all will be well
- when you return to Windows. I'm running DOS 5.0, DV 2.40, and QEMM 6.00.
