- A friend is having trouble using MS Works on his (ick) IBM PS1 386sx system and
- has asked me to help out. The first thing I found was that he only had 1MB of
- RAM, but a quick upgrade fixed that. Now I've discovered that he's running DOS
- 4.00, which is probably his biggest problem.
-
- The actual problem is an "out of memory" error when loading the second of two
- large Works spreadsheets. My first thought is to install DOS 5.0 and use high
- memory for DOS and whatever else can be shoved up there, but was also consider-
- ing whether a newer version of Works (he has 2.00a or something like that) may
- be out that will allow itself to be loaded into high memory. Any opinions or
- additional options out there that I'm missing? Any input appreciated.
-
- Thanks,
-
