- I have SLS 0.98pl5 from mid november and I encountered this problem at
- various times: first when recompiling the kerneel after a reinstall (new HD)
- and then when compiling xv 2.00.
- At first the problem seemed spurious but later it got to a point where I was
- unable to compile even a single .c file.

- Out of desperation I reinstalled cpp and gcc from the installation disks
- (using sysinstall -remove 222d7b and then reinstalling the same files again).
