- Hi:
-
- I I am a beginner of linux. I just tried to install linux .99 on my
- 486-Dx50 pc with 8 MB, ATI vgawonder XL24, one floppy and two IDE hard
- disk(130MB,203MB). I am not sure the manufacturer of the IDE controller.
- (Should be MAXTOR the HardDisks are MAXTOR).
- After I tried. I succeed to boot up the system on the other machine
- with only one hard disk (the same config, but only one 130MB harddrive.)
- using a1 and a2 from SLS. But I failed to do so on my machine which has
- two hard drives.
- It hangs after the following have been found by the system
- ttys0,ttys1,the microsoft mouse bus,the ATI inport mouse bus.
- It seems that the problem is due to the linux can't find the second
- IDE drive. Is it possible the IDE control card can't drive two hard
- drives? But it works well under dos.
- Any suggestions or solutions please.
- Thanks in advance.
