- I'm not sure that's true. You can still copyright the "diffs", and the
- binaries are definitely copyrightable. For example, with DJGCC (the
- DOS version of GCC) the author of the port retains some rights for
- the program, and can even charge royalties if you use his
- extender in a certain manner.

- What is *definitely* free is the original source of GCC and you can
- do your own port and send that around. But I think MWC can protect their
- port if they want to, and I'm 99% sure they can protect their binaries.
