  39. There are many many places where a device driver is not appropriate:

  41.      - there are several computers that may execute a particular program to
  42.        be infected
  43.      - the "installer" is not knowledgeable
  44.      - machines change with some regularity
  45.      - in a network situation, new nodes are added and/or removed
  46.        [how about a NETWORK marker?  node removed, local virus dies!]

  48. Besides, when all is done, a controlled virus is the ONLY way to go.  You
  49. don't want the virus?  Fine - don't do anything - the virus will die when
  50. it gets to your system.

  52. On the other extreme, if you're a hacker and don't mind pushing the envelope
  53. of software technology, you can put the marker on your system and have a
  54. blast while everyone else just flaps their gums :-)
